The On-The-SpotTM Nitro-Organics Detector detects organic nitro explosives on surfaces such as TNT, PETN, RDX, HMX, and many others.
Each On-The-SpotTM Nitro-Organics Detector has three parts: 1) a white pad for wiping the surface, 2) a reagent-coated pad, and, 3) a divider. Side 1 (the white pad) is applied to the suspect surface and after removing the divider, Part 3, Side 2 (the reagent pad) is pressed onto Side 1. If there are nitro-organics on the absorbent pad a color change will occur in 10 to 180 seconds.
NOTE: USING THE ON-THE-SPOTTM NITRO-ORGANICS DOES NOT RELEASE SOLVENTS, BASES AND OTHER TOXIC MATERIALS INTO THE AIR. THEREFORE, THE ON-THE-SPOTTM NITRO-ORGANICS IS PARTICULARLY SUITABLE FOR USE IN CONFINED SPACES SUCH AS AIRCRAFT CABINS AND/OR ON DELICATE SURFACES.
A box of 10 On-The-SpotTM Nitro-Organics Detectors weighs less than 4 ounces (110 grams), making it easy to store, even on aircraft. Since it contains all the components needed for use, it can be rapidly deployed. This is especially important in situations where a professional laboratory or expensive equipment is not available, or when immediate results are required (10 to 180 seconds). Even unskilled personnel can use the On-The-SpotTM successfully.
