The Gel-Ox^TM is a detector for strong oxidizers, such as hydrogen peroxide or hypochlorites, hidden in thick gels or viscous liquids.

To test a liquid sample, simply apply 2 to 3 droplets of the suspicious sample to the test port on the Gel-Ox^TM. If there are strong oxidizers in the sample, such as hydrogen peroxide, a dark brown, blue or black color will appear on the back side of the Gel-Ox^TM in 5 to 45 seconds.

A box of 4 Gel-Ox^TM tabs weighs less than 2 ounces, (60 grams), making it ideal for easy storage and transportation. Even non-skilled personnel can use it successfully. This is especially important in situations where a professional laboratory or expensive equipment is not available, or when immediate results are required (5 to 45 seconds). For example, an aircraft may carry Gel-Ox^TM and the crew can use it on-board during flights to determine if a suspicious material can be used to make explosives.
