Liquid, metallic mercury evaporates slowly but its vapor concentration may exceed allowable concentrations.
Exposure may occur where small droplets of liquid mercury are improperly cleaned and decontaminated. Mercury may hid in carpets, in corners, and under desks and shelving. Mercury spills can occur in manufacturing plants which use mercury or mercury amalgams, in dentist offices, and even in homes with the breaking of Mercury thermometers.
ChemSee offers the DHG-001 Dosimeter for measuring and monitoring exposure of personnel to Mercury vapors in industrial, commercial and residential areas.
