Government food security is an important part of protecting public officials, executives, visiting dignitaries, and other high-profile individuals. ChemSee provides rapid, field-deployable screening tools that allow security personnel to test food and beverages for dangerous chemical contaminants or poisons before consumption.
The KT-06 API Food Poison Detection Kit provides a practical method for incorporating chemical poison screening into executive protection, government security, hospitality, and institutional food-safety procedures.
Protect Food Before It Is Served
Traditional food-safety procedures are primarily designed to address accidental contamination and biological hazards. Security-sensitive environments may also require procedures for identifying intentional contamination with toxic chemicals.
ChemSee detection products are designed to provide rapid screening at the point of need without requiring sophisticated laboratory equipment. This allows security teams to incorporate chemical screening into existing food preparation, service, and protection procedures.

Developed and Independently Validated for Food Security
The technology behind ChemSee’s food poison detection kit was developed under contract with the U.S. Department of Defense through the Technical Support Working Group (TSWG). The system was subsequently evaluated by the Department of Defense and other organizations.
Independent technical validation was also conducted by the Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences at North Carolina State University. The evaluation found that the detectors rapidly identified dangerous levels of poison across a range of food matrices while remaining straightforward to operate.

Developing a Food Security Testing Procedure
The effectiveness of a food-security program depends not only on the detection product being used, but also on when samples are collected, how representative samples are prepared, and how testing is incorporated into existing security procedures.
ChemSee can assist organizations with product selection and the development of practical testing procedures based on the type of facility, food-service environment, security requirements, and expected testing volume.
Supporting Venue and Facility Security
Food screening may be one component of a broader security program. ChemSee also provides products for screening explosive residues and selected toxic industrial chemicals for security, emergency-response, and facility applications.
These products are intended for complementary environmental and security screening applications and are separate from the KT-06 food poison screening process.
